Everyday Makeup | Festive Twist

               Hiya!
I thought I'd share a super simple makeup look with you guys that's perfect to pair with any dark or bold lip colour for this time of year. I personally like to wear this during the day since it's light eye makeup and I usually wear a smokey eye at night timeout you do you! You could also wear this for a festive party maybe with some winged liner!
I started by doing just my standard face makeup and filling in my eyebrows which I don't change on a daily basis. Next I took my Urban Decay Naked palette which I use most days to do my eyes. From the palette I mixed the 2 lightest colours 'virgin' and 'sin' and applied that all over my lids. This just really brightens up my eyes. Next I took 'buck' and blended that through my crease to add some shape and depth. 'Buck' is such a perfect crease shade, I tend to use it in almost all my looks as it just blends everything together so so well.
Finally instead of using an eyeliner I decided to take the darkest colour 'creep' on an angled brush and run it along my lash line then blend over it with a fluffy brush. This is a lot quicker than using a liquid liner but still add some definition and makes your lashes look fuller. With that same fluffy brush I just go over the whole eye and make sure everything's blended together.
Then I curled my lashes and applied some of my absolute favourite masacra, the Maybelline Big Eyes Volum'Express in waterproof. This holds a curl perfectly and stays on all day long. For everyday I don't normally wear bottom mascara just because I like to keep it very minimal and keep my under eyes very clean and awake looking.
Then for my lips I used a favourite amoung all beauty euthanuas', it's MAC's 'Diva' lipstick. This is a beautiful deep matte red shade which is quite vampy. It stays on really well for being such a dark colour and considering it's a matte formula it isn't overly drying on the lips. I mentioned before on another post but I good dupe for this lipstick is Rimmel London's lip liner in 063 'Black Tulip', it's a much cheaper alternative!

What is your go to lip colour for this time of year?
Hope you guys enioyed!
Love, Julie xx

(Ps, sorry for the crappy photos, my laptops been broke for a while so unable to use my camera for pictures and having to use my phone camera.. Hopefully it'll be sorted soon..)

Quick Festive Nails | imPress Manicure

               Hiya!
Just a little nail help here. I've always been big into nail polish, I own a lot but I've recently started to dabble with false nails a little more and I'm loving it. I tried these Impress press on manicure nails and was pleasantly surpirsed.
'Rated R'
'Peach Shimmer'
When I thought of press on nails I saw the crappy little bits of plastic I had when I was younger that popped off after 10 minutes when I tried to lift something. These nails stay on super well even while I'm working wih jewellery and clasps all day and look like professional gel nails! I thought they were the perfect fix for your nails especially at this time of year if you have somewhere fancy to go or just want to feel a little but more polished and finished than usual. They take only a few minutes to apply and you don't have to wait around for nail polish to dry and pray it doesn't smudge while you're getting ready. They also come in some really cool designs and from tonnes of brands which I'll definitely be picking up! The 2 I show here are normally £5.99 and £7.99 for the glitter ones which is a little pricey to be wearing them all the time but a nice pamper every so often without the price tag of getting them done professionally.

Have you tried any press on nails before?
Hope you guys enjoyed!

TAG | You're It

               Hiya!
Can you really believe it's December, Christmas is now just round the corner! *internal screaming*
I really wanted to post something today but not have it relate to Christmas so I found a tag that I saw  TooClothesForComfort write not too long ago and really liked, so here's mine! (Ps you should definitely check out her blog she does fantastic posts!)

1. What is the product you've wanted for the longest time?
Hm probably Nars Laguna bronzer or a Nars duo eyeshadow. Nars is so difficult to get hold of near me and I hate ordering makeup online!

2. If you had to wear only one foundation for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Definitely Revlon Colourstay for normal/dry skin. It sits perfect on my skin, gives amazing coverage and is such a great price!

3. Your house is burning down, which product do you grab first?
Of couse if my house was burning down I probably wouldn't be thinking about my makeup but in the back of my mind I would definitely be wanting to save my Urban Decay original Naked palette. If I ever lost it I would repurchase it instantly.

4. What is your lastest 'empty' product?
Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser, it's been my staple moisturiser for a while now.

5. What quote(s) do you live by?
'A tiger doesn't lose sleep over the opinion of sheep' came to mind but there's probably another.

6. If you could only buy makeup from one brand, which brand would it be?
Oooh I feel like recently for drugstore makeup Maybelline has really been on top for me. Overall though no one brand comes to mind, still have a lot of makeup and brands to try out!

7. Which type of beauty products do you buy the most of?
Without a doubt lip products! Brands are always coming out wih new lip crayons and stains etc that I want to see how they work!

8. How long have you been wearing makeup for?
Hm probably around 5 years, since I was about 13 which looking back was pretty young..

9. If you could be any mythical creature, what would you be?
100% a unicorn, no doubt about it. They're just fabulous.

I'm not gonna tag anyone specific but feel free to do these questions! Let me know if you do decide to do this tag I'd love to read it!

Hope you guys enjoyed!

My New Youtube Love | Carrie Hope Fletcher

               Hiya!
For quite a while I've been stuck in a bit of a youtube rut, I'm subscribed to and love watching so many different channels whether they have millions of subscribers or a couple thousand. However when it came to British youtubers I was only really subscribed to the hugely popular channels such as Zoella, Tanya Burr, Marcus Butler etc.. I still love these channels but recently I've been branching out slightly. After Louise (aka a SprinkleofGlitter) showed Jack Howard in many a video I soon found myself watching all his old videos and really truly loving them. Jack is huge on youtube but his content was a little different to what I normally watched so I'd never found myself watching him before. He mentioned Carrie in a recent video and I wondered why I'd never checked her out since I'd known who she was for quite a while so I ventured on over to ItsWayPastMyBedtime, and oh my goodness... I had seriously been missing out!

Carrie just makes me smile. She's truly a beautiful person inside and out. She could talk about what she ate for tea last night and make it sound poetic. I'm yet to watch all her videos (which I will get around to!) but so far my favourite video has been 'To My Sixteen Year Old Self'. It's just so lovely to watch and I may have teared up slightly.... Carrie makes it seem like she's only talking to you through the camera, like she's giving big sisterly advice which is hard not to adore.
So far this is what I have learnt about her,
-she's extremely talented at singing and songwriting to name a few
     - a Disney fan esp of Tangled (something we share)
     - a book enthusiast
     - also a cake fanatic and tea drinker
And yes she is Tom from McFly's sister..

Ehm is there somewhere I can apply to be Carrie's best friend oooor..?

Pleaseeeeee check out her channel if like me you hadn't before!! And if you're having a bit of a crappy day her videos will definitely work as a pick me up.
(You should also check out Jack Howard too, he's hilarious and makes fab content)

What's your favorite video of Carrie's you think I should check out?
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Soap&Glory Makeup | First Impressions

               Hiya!
So I'm sure you guys all know that quite a while ago Soap&Glory released a makeup line that's pretty popular.
finally got round to picking up a few bits the other day and thought I'd share my first impressions.
First up is the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Bashful. These have been raved about by youtubers such as FleurdeForce and Gabby from Velvetghost. My first thought was that it's quite similar to the Revlon Lip Butters in colour pay off and feeling on the lips, great for people who love the look of a slight glossy lip without the sticky feeling. I chose the colour Bashful which is the pale pink of the range, great for every day wear and perfect to throw on throughout the day to add a little bit of colour to your face and make yourself look more refreshed. Can't wait to see how the lasting power is and how it wears throughout the day.

The second thing I picked up was the Solar Powder Bronzer. Again many people have been talking about this bronzer saying how great it is for contouring and adding some natural colour to your face. I tried it out when I first got it and the colour is perfect, not too orange or muddy on my face, definitely doesn't make you look like an Oompa Loompa! Also has great pigmentation, don't have to be overly cautious when applying.

Overall I have some pretty high hopes for these products and will definitely be putting them to the test over the next few weeks. Maybe you'll see them in a future blog post if they become a staple of mine! Will be checking out more of the Soap&Glory range soon.

Have you tried any of the S&G makeup?
What are your fav S&G products?

Hope you guys enjoyed!

Current Loves | Lip Products

               Hiya!
So this may sound silly but since leaving school and working a tonne I've been experimenting with my makeup on an everyday basis a lot more, especially my lip colour. While in school I wore very little makeup and only really played it up on the weekends. Recently I've fallen back in love with switching up my makeup and trying some new things. These are a few of the lip products I've been loving during the past few weeks that are a little different to the pale pinks I tend to go for.
First off lip liners as a whole are a massive fav-they have amazing wear and such a gorgeous finish.
This Rimmel London Exaggerate a Full Colour liner in 063 Eastend snob is a 'my lips but better' type of colour which is great for days when my eye makeup is slightly heavier but I still want something on my lips. Also you don't have to worry about sharpening this.. #lazy
Next is Rimmel London's lasting finish 1000 Kisses loner in 063 Black Tulip which is getting me super excited for fall. It's quite a vampy red but still pretty wearable, reminds me a lot of MAC's Diva lipstick. This stays on incredibly well which is perfect since it is a darker colour.
Staying with Rimmel I picked up this lipstick about a week ago but already love it. It's Rimmel London's Lasting Finish in 084 Amethyst Shimmer which I feel is a great bright pinky/purple colour for the fall time. It also has a lovely sheen finish to it.
I've also rediscovered my UD Naked lipgloss in Beso, which I was obsessed with when I first bought but kinda forgot about. It's perfect to just through on without a mirror after eating or drinking. Also if you really dislike sticky lipglosses you seriously must check these out, so perfect
Finally an old lipstick I got a while back but never went all out and wore it super opaque on my lips is Barry M lipstick in 146. Recently though I wore this quite a few times just like it's shown in the picture and absolutely loved it. I wish if rediscovered it sooner so I could've got more wear out of it during the summer! It has incredible colour payoff and lasting power!

So they're the lip products I've been loving recently!
What have your fav lip products been recently?
Hope you guys enjoyed!
Love, Julie xx

Lazy Summer Days | Fav TV Shows

                  Hiya!
If your summer is anything like mine not everyday is full of adventure or even socialising... This post is my passing in some of my antisocial expertise and showing you some of my favourite tv shows to binge on during those days where all you do is sit in and drink tea. (aka my entire summer)

First up is Gossip Girl. If you somehow haven't watched this show I would make it a priority this summer to watch this incredible show. I don't want to ramble too much about this one but Gossip Girl is definitely one of my all time favourite shows. Even if you have watched it before why not take a trip down memory lane and re watch some episodes.. which is exactly what I'm currently doing. (psssh I talk more about GG HERE)

Desperate Housewives, I don't even know where to begin. DH is hands down my all time favourite show. It has the perfect mix of comedy, serious story lines, relationships and heart ache. If for whatever reason you don't know what the show is about it's based around 4 housewives living on a little suburban street called Wisteria Lane. It basically shows these women dealing with their families, friends and work life. The show deals with some pretty dark story lines right from the get go. There's always some sort of drama going on.
The show certainly isn't overly girly and due to the humour both girls and guys can enjoy it. If you need a new great show to get obsessed over make this it! Also thanks to there being so many episodes you certainly won't be bored this summer.

Next is The Vampire Diaries, another favourite with many. I've been watching TVD since it's premier and loved it from the start. I really didn't think it would be something I'd be into but it's became a firm fav. The story lines are super gripping and always leaves you wanting the next episode. If you like a show with some action but still a little bit of romance TVD is perf for you.

AWKWARD is again a show I watched from the very start and loved. From the adverts it seemed right up my alley and I couldn't wait to watch it. However the show was different to how I expected it and somehow turned out much better than I could have imagined! It's a slightly different take on the typical high school show, it's almost believable compared to something like 90210 where they wear heels everyday and drive incredible cars. If you want to watch something you don't have to think about or really concentrate on AWKWARD is the show for you. Also thanks to the episode only being 20 minutes they're great to watch while getting ready.

What are some of your favourite tv shows?
Hope you guys enjoyed!
Love, Julie xx

Summer Songs

               Hiya!
Since it's now summer and I have a little bit more time get ready I like to put on my Spotify and chill in the mornings. (or whenever I eventually get up..) I thought I'd just share some of the songs Ive been listening to non stop recently, some are relatively new and some a throwbacks.

After seeing The Fault in Our Stars a couple weeks back I've since been listening to this song a tonne, such a great, up beat, happy type of song.

After hearing a tiny bit of this song on a Gabriel Conte vine and having it stuck in my head I had to find out what song it was. Since then this is the first song I put on when I'm getting ready, its so damn catchy! It also has a Spongebob reference and who doesn't love Spongebob.

I just think this song is kind of bad ass and I don' normally listen to stuff like this, so yeah.

Yes, I'm still listening to this and I'm still not sick of it.

5 Seconds of Summer are definitely one of my favourite bands and all their songs are super catchy but I've replayed this song a lot and I'm still not sick of it. Don't Stop is also becoming one of my favs.

This is just such a cute song with a super catchy and infectious chorus.

After watching Les Twins dance videos for hours one night on Youtube I became obsessed with this song as they dance to it sometimes. I also then noticed that Connor Franta uses it as his outro on his videos. It's just such a cool song I'll never get tired of hearing.

Just because it's a classic.

What songs have you been listening to recently?
Hope you guys enjoyed!
Love, Julie xx

Review | Longchamp Le Pliage Large Shopper

               Hiya!
So it was my 18th birthday not too long ago at the end of April and my mum very kindly got me the Longchamp Le Pliage Large Shopper in Pink as part of my present. I had been eyeing this bag for quite some time and after finally owning one I now see why everyone and their mother has one.

These bags are a little pricey with this one being £68, but since using it almost everyday since getting it I can honestly say they are worth every penny. I chose this amazing bright pink colour which is a lot brighter in person, but I thought this was the perfect colour for the Spring/Summer time. The bag itself is made form nylon which makes it easy to clean, also super lightweight so it doesn't break your arm after wearing it all day. It can hold a change of clothing easily along with all the other crap I carry in my bag which makes it incredible useful. However if you prefer bags with various compartments or pockets this may not be for you since the bag has one large section with only one small pocket. The handles are made from beautiful leather which is amazing quality and very sturdy. Another reason why this bag is so popular is the fact it can be easily folded and stored making it perfect for travel!
If you're considering purchasing a Longchamp Le Pliage I say go for it - you definitely won't regret it!

What do you think about Longchamp Le Pliage bags?
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Everyday Summer Makeup Routine | 2014

               Hiya!
I thought I'd do an updated everyday summer makeup routine since I did one about this time last year HERE, but I've since discovered quite a few new products.
Ok, so heads up but I do my makeup in a really weird order and I'm going to go through the products in that order so, sorry guys...

First up I do eyeshadow and for that I use my Urban Decay Naked palette. (Before I apply some Urban Decay Primer Potion to help the shadows to last all day but it's just a little sample I got.) Basically I mix 'virgin' and 'sin' and apply that all over my lids. Next I again mix 'naked' and 'buck' and put that through my crease. Finally I take 'darkhorse' and apply it to the outer third of my lid and my crease to help darker everything up, I also drag a small amount under my eye instead of using eyeliner.
After I apply my actually face makeup. I use the Rimmel London Hide the Blemish concealer on any spots or particularly bad redness. Next I use the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream which is very new after MarissaLace raved about it. It contains salicylic acid which basically helps prevent acne. It's a super lovely lightweight cream with a great amount of coverage and I can't even feel it on my skin, perf! Finally I pop a little bit of the Maybelline Fit Me concealer under my eyes for a little bit more coverage there.
^that's the little UD primer
I'm all about improving my eyebrow game and the Benefit Browzings brow shaping kit is amazing. It's such a fool proof, easy way of getting pretty good looking brows. Before putting on mascara I always curl my lashes (which I forgot to photograph..) but it seriously makes such a difference in my opinion. I've recently been loving the Maybelline waterproof Big Eyes mascara which is amazing! I mention both these products in a previous post HERE, talking about my current beauty favs.
As you can see sadly my NYC Mosaic Bronzer smashed but I'm still using it until I find another one I love. So I just use my bronzer to contour my cheeks, temples and jaw. I use my Hervana Benefit Box Powder to just add a little bit of colour back into my face as it's a really natural, light pink colour. For lip colour I like to keep things super simple by using the Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Cherry Me', it's a shear red colour which adds the perfect amount of colour for everyday. It's also really moisturising and is super easy to apply on the go.
The 2nd photo here are just the brushes I use everyday, mainly Real Technique brushes as they're amazing quality but are such great prices. My favourite atm is the buffing brush which I use to apply my BB cream all over my face.
(cringey selfie)

Ps. Didn't realise just how many Maybelline products I've been using, not intentional, sorry!
What are your essential summer makeup items?
Hope you guys enjoyed!
Love, Julie xx

Youtube Style Crush | MarissaLace

               Hiya!
These Youtube style crush posts have been something I've been doing for a while since I'm quite the avid youtube watcher.
Here are so of my previous posts:

Today I wanted to introduce you guys to MarissaLace. On all my other Youtube Style Crush posts I've focused mainly on their style and why I love it whereas I just want to focus on Marissa as a person.
Marissa is 21 and from California. She was primarily a 'beauty guru' but recently made the change to more of a lifestyle type channel and now often posts fitness and health related vids. Not only is she trained in all things hair and beauty (after recently graduating beauty school) so she actually knows what she's talking about she's a sassy queen with lots of personality.
Marissa's videos are full of her down to earth, incredible personality which makes them hilarious to watch no matter what shes talking about. Although her vlogs show this on a whole new level (TheDailyMarissalace) Marissa's vlog channel is by far my favourite along with her advice videos.
She's an incredibly refreshing face to see especially within the beauty community on youtube, she comes across 100% true and genuinely and that she's just being herself. Marissa's also really into thinking positive and going after what you want. She posts a lot of inspiration quotes on instagram and twitter and it's always good to be surrounded by people like that even if it is on social media. (btw she followed me on twitter not too long ago and it made my week!)
Marissa just seems like a seriously sweet, lovely person who makes great videos which are pleasure to watch. If you haven't already, check out some of her vids and I promise you won't be disappointed, she deserves a hell of a lot more subscribers than she has!

Ps. Eat. Breath. Bronze.
Hope you guys enjoyed!
Love, Julie xx

Recent Cinema Trips | Mini Movie Reviews

               Hiya!
Wait, what's this? 2 posts in one week.. crazy!
Recently I have actually went to the cinema a lot which is very strange as I rarely go and normally wait for the DVDs.However there has been a tonne of movies I have seriously wanted to see and it's a great excuse to meet up with friends now that I've finished school.

Firstly, after planning on seeing Maleficent but it being sold out, me and a friend decided to see Bad Neighbours as everyone had raved about it and it seemed pretty damn funny. And we were right. It's a pretty typical comedy with a silly storyline and a great cast. Would definitely watch it again and laugh just as much, highly recommend for a super easy, chill watch. Also a bonus that it revolves around Zefron and Dave Franco as frat boys...

After waiting another week we finally got to see Maleficent and boy was it worth the wait. If you don't know Maleficent is about telling her side of the story and what drove her to do what she did to Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty. The movie 100% lived up to the hype it created. Not only was the storyline amazing, shocking and seriously emotional but Angelina Jolie did a flawless job and looked incredible. Would honestly go see it again just for her acting.

Finally, I just got back from seeing The Fault In Our Stars and wow. I sadly haven't read the book yet but I wanted to experience the movie while it was still in the cinema. Although I was pretty pumped having watched just about everything relating to it online beforehand... I really don't know how to express my feelings towards this movie yet. The casting to begin with is exceptional, I'm not just talking about for Hazel and Gus, but all the characters I really loved and thought everyone just did an excellent job. It's the perfect mixture of humour, (Issac is hilarious) heart ache and sweetness all rolled into one. If for some reason you don't plan on seeing this movie you seriously must, it's now up there as one of my favourites and trust me its been a longggg time since a new movie has made it as one of my favs.
Oh and the soundtrack is such a great, chill listen, check it out for sure.

Have you seen any of these movies? What did you think?
What movie's have you been loving recently?
Hope you guys enjoyed!
Love, Julie xx
