Current Loves | Lip Products

               Hiya!
So this may sound silly but since leaving school and working a tonne I've been experimenting with my makeup on an everyday basis a lot more, especially my lip colour. While in school I wore very little makeup and only really played it up on the weekends. Recently I've fallen back in love with switching up my makeup and trying some new things. These are a few of the lip products I've been loving during the past few weeks that are a little different to the pale pinks I tend to go for.
First off lip liners as a whole are a massive fav-they have amazing wear and such a gorgeous finish.
This Rimmel London Exaggerate a Full Colour liner in 063 Eastend snob is a 'my lips but better' type of colour which is great for days when my eye makeup is slightly heavier but I still want something on my lips. Also you don't have to worry about sharpening this.. #lazy
Next is Rimmel London's lasting finish 1000 Kisses loner in 063 Black Tulip which is getting me super excited for fall. It's quite a vampy red but still pretty wearable, reminds me a lot of MAC's Diva lipstick. This stays on incredibly well which is perfect since it is a darker colour.
Staying with Rimmel I picked up this lipstick about a week ago but already love it. It's Rimmel London's Lasting Finish in 084 Amethyst Shimmer which I feel is a great bright pinky/purple colour for the fall time. It also has a lovely sheen finish to it.
I've also rediscovered my UD Naked lipgloss in Beso, which I was obsessed with when I first bought but kinda forgot about. It's perfect to just through on without a mirror after eating or drinking. Also if you really dislike sticky lipglosses you seriously must check these out, so perfect
Finally an old lipstick I got a while back but never went all out and wore it super opaque on my lips is Barry M lipstick in 146. Recently though I wore this quite a few times just like it's shown in the picture and absolutely loved it. I wish if rediscovered it sooner so I could've got more wear out of it during the summer! It has incredible colour payoff and lasting power!

So they're the lip products I've been loving recently!
What have your fav lip products been recently?
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Lazy Summer Days | Fav TV Shows

                  Hiya!
If your summer is anything like mine not everyday is full of adventure or even socialising... This post is my passing in some of my antisocial expertise and showing you some of my favourite tv shows to binge on during those days where all you do is sit in and drink tea. (aka my entire summer)

First up is Gossip Girl. If you somehow haven't watched this show I would make it a priority this summer to watch this incredible show. I don't want to ramble too much about this one but Gossip Girl is definitely one of my all time favourite shows. Even if you have watched it before why not take a trip down memory lane and re watch some episodes.. which is exactly what I'm currently doing. (psssh I talk more about GG HERE)

Desperate Housewives, I don't even know where to begin. DH is hands down my all time favourite show. It has the perfect mix of comedy, serious story lines, relationships and heart ache. If for whatever reason you don't know what the show is about it's based around 4 housewives living on a little suburban street called Wisteria Lane. It basically shows these women dealing with their families, friends and work life. The show deals with some pretty dark story lines right from the get go. There's always some sort of drama going on.
The show certainly isn't overly girly and due to the humour both girls and guys can enjoy it. If you need a new great show to get obsessed over make this it! Also thanks to there being so many episodes you certainly won't be bored this summer.

Next is The Vampire Diaries, another favourite with many. I've been watching TVD since it's premier and loved it from the start. I really didn't think it would be something I'd be into but it's became a firm fav. The story lines are super gripping and always leaves you wanting the next episode. If you like a show with some action but still a little bit of romance TVD is perf for you.

AWKWARD is again a show I watched from the very start and loved. From the adverts it seemed right up my alley and I couldn't wait to watch it. However the show was different to how I expected it and somehow turned out much better than I could have imagined! It's a slightly different take on the typical high school show, it's almost believable compared to something like 90210 where they wear heels everyday and drive incredible cars. If you want to watch something you don't have to think about or really concentrate on AWKWARD is the show for you. Also thanks to the episode only being 20 minutes they're great to watch while getting ready.

What are some of your favourite tv shows?
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Summer Songs

               Hiya!
Since it's now summer and I have a little bit more time get ready I like to put on my Spotify and chill in the mornings. (or whenever I eventually get up..) I thought I'd just share some of the songs Ive been listening to non stop recently, some are relatively new and some a throwbacks.

After seeing The Fault in Our Stars a couple weeks back I've since been listening to this song a tonne, such a great, up beat, happy type of song.

After hearing a tiny bit of this song on a Gabriel Conte vine and having it stuck in my head I had to find out what song it was. Since then this is the first song I put on when I'm getting ready, its so damn catchy! It also has a Spongebob reference and who doesn't love Spongebob.

I just think this song is kind of bad ass and I don' normally listen to stuff like this, so yeah.

Yes, I'm still listening to this and I'm still not sick of it.

5 Seconds of Summer are definitely one of my favourite bands and all their songs are super catchy but I've replayed this song a lot and I'm still not sick of it. Don't Stop is also becoming one of my favs.

This is just such a cute song with a super catchy and infectious chorus.

After watching Les Twins dance videos for hours one night on Youtube I became obsessed with this song as they dance to it sometimes. I also then noticed that Connor Franta uses it as his outro on his videos. It's just such a cool song I'll never get tired of hearing.

Just because it's a classic.

What songs have you been listening to recently?
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Review | Longchamp Le Pliage Large Shopper

               Hiya!
So it was my 18th birthday not too long ago at the end of April and my mum very kindly got me the Longchamp Le Pliage Large Shopper in Pink as part of my present. I had been eyeing this bag for quite some time and after finally owning one I now see why everyone and their mother has one.

These bags are a little pricey with this one being £68, but since using it almost everyday since getting it I can honestly say they are worth every penny. I chose this amazing bright pink colour which is a lot brighter in person, but I thought this was the perfect colour for the Spring/Summer time. The bag itself is made form nylon which makes it easy to clean, also super lightweight so it doesn't break your arm after wearing it all day. It can hold a change of clothing easily along with all the other crap I carry in my bag which makes it incredible useful. However if you prefer bags with various compartments or pockets this may not be for you since the bag has one large section with only one small pocket. The handles are made from beautiful leather which is amazing quality and very sturdy. Another reason why this bag is so popular is the fact it can be easily folded and stored making it perfect for travel!
If you're considering purchasing a Longchamp Le Pliage I say go for it - you definitely won't regret it!

What do you think about Longchamp Le Pliage bags?
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Everyday Summer Makeup Routine | 2014

               Hiya!
I thought I'd do an updated everyday summer makeup routine since I did one about this time last year HERE, but I've since discovered quite a few new products.
Ok, so heads up but I do my makeup in a really weird order and I'm going to go through the products in that order so, sorry guys...

First up I do eyeshadow and for that I use my Urban Decay Naked palette. (Before I apply some Urban Decay Primer Potion to help the shadows to last all day but it's just a little sample I got.) Basically I mix 'virgin' and 'sin' and apply that all over my lids. Next I again mix 'naked' and 'buck' and put that through my crease. Finally I take 'darkhorse' and apply it to the outer third of my lid and my crease to help darker everything up, I also drag a small amount under my eye instead of using eyeliner.
After I apply my actually face makeup. I use the Rimmel London Hide the Blemish concealer on any spots or particularly bad redness. Next I use the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream which is very new after MarissaLace raved about it. It contains salicylic acid which basically helps prevent acne. It's a super lovely lightweight cream with a great amount of coverage and I can't even feel it on my skin, perf! Finally I pop a little bit of the Maybelline Fit Me concealer under my eyes for a little bit more coverage there.
^that's the little UD primer
I'm all about improving my eyebrow game and the Benefit Browzings brow shaping kit is amazing. It's such a fool proof, easy way of getting pretty good looking brows. Before putting on mascara I always curl my lashes (which I forgot to photograph..) but it seriously makes such a difference in my opinion. I've recently been loving the Maybelline waterproof Big Eyes mascara which is amazing! I mention both these products in a previous post HERE, talking about my current beauty favs.
As you can see sadly my NYC Mosaic Bronzer smashed but I'm still using it until I find another one I love. So I just use my bronzer to contour my cheeks, temples and jaw. I use my Hervana Benefit Box Powder to just add a little bit of colour back into my face as it's a really natural, light pink colour. For lip colour I like to keep things super simple by using the Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Cherry Me', it's a shear red colour which adds the perfect amount of colour for everyday. It's also really moisturising and is super easy to apply on the go.
The 2nd photo here are just the brushes I use everyday, mainly Real Technique brushes as they're amazing quality but are such great prices. My favourite atm is the buffing brush which I use to apply my BB cream all over my face.
(cringey selfie)

Ps. Didn't realise just how many Maybelline products I've been using, not intentional, sorry!
What are your essential summer makeup items?
Hope you guys enjoyed!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

               Hiya!

Like just about every other girl here in the UK I use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, as I mentioned in my previous post HERE. However recently I decided to venture out and pick up a concealer I had never tried. I chose the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in shade 15, it was £5.99 from Boots.
My initial thought was shade 15 was a perfect match for my skin, there are 6 colours to choose from which I thought was a pretty good range for a drugstore concealer. During the summer I just use concealer alone so I use it both under my eyes and on any blemishes and redness. After a few uses I’ve came to the conclusion that this is a really great light/medium coverage water based concealer that’s super moisturising. I love using it on my blemishes for a completely natural look but its definitely not thick or full coverage enough for my under eye circles. That’s just me personally as I have quite bad darkness under my eyes so if you don’t have such a problem this would be great as it’s not drying whatsoever.
It definitely lives up to its claims.. ‘It conceals without feeling heavy or looking cakey.. Coverage the way it was meant to be… even, natural and breathable.’
If you can’t get your hands on the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer or just want to try something new I definitely suggest the Maybelline Fit Me.

Have any of you guys tried this concealer, what did you think?
Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

My Everyday Summer Makeup Routine

               Hiya!
So, during the summer months I like to give my skin a break and wear less makeup. These products are my everyday essentials if I’m hanging out with friends or going shopping, they’re also great in super hot weather (which surprising we have been blessed with here in the UK, woo!) and don’t melt off your face.
This first product is The Soltan Ultra Resistance Sunstick for Lips and Face. This has been such an essential because I burn easily in the sun and don’t want to experience burnt lips again.. I apply a thin layer after my moisturiser and blend it in with my hands. It doesn’t dry my skin out or affect any of the products I apply afterwards.
The next product is one I can’t live without, so many people rave about it and it definitely deserves all the great reviews. This is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Shade 2, its great for both undereye darkness and for blemishes on the face. I use this concealer in place of a foundation, it has the perfect amount of coverage while still looking natural. Pairing it with a mineral powder for more coverage or if you have oily skin would be great for the summer too.
Probably the most important part of doing my makeup is filling in my eyebrows. My face never looks quite complete until I’ve done this step, makes such a huge difference in my opinion. I use an inglot eyeshadow in 327 matte just to fill in any sparse areas and set it in place with clear mascara from miss sporty. The best brush I’ve found to do this is a dense angled eyebrow brush, gives you control by placing the colour exactly where you want it.
I honestly can’t be bothered using eyeshadow on an everyday basis but since I wear such little face makeup I like to make sure my eyes are nicely framed and stand out, that’s where my Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 001 Black comes in. I simply line the outer half of my top lash line with this (like liquidliner) then use this little dense brush I got with an Urban Decay palette to smudge it out to make it look more effortless and less precise.
Next I curl my eyelashes with a cheap £2 curler from Superdrug, still makes a huge difference by making my eyes look super awake and open. I apply a coat or 2 of the Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Waterproof to my top and bottom eyelashes. This mascara is really great at adding both volume and length but its not great on my bottom eyelashes, I definitely prefer Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express Waterproof but this is still a really great mascara and only around £6 from Boots.
To add some shape and colour back into my face I use the NYC Colour Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in 724C. Since this bronzer is matte I use it the contour my cheeks, temples, jawline and bring it down my neck. It’s the perfect colour without it being muddy or orange and again is super inexpensive.
Finally I add some of my Benefit Hervana blush to my cheeks to brighten up my face. This is the perfect natural colour for me and just has a nice sheen to it without there being chunky glitter or shimmer.
I use various brushes but my 2 favourites is my foundation and bronzer brushes. To blend in my concealer and foundation when I wear it I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Then to contour my face a use a ranodm brush from Boots that is perfectly shaped to fit in the hollows of my cheeks and tapered to apply colour but also blend out the edges.

What products are your must haves during the summer?
I hope you guys enjoyed this!

New | Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Products

               Hiya!
Recently I’ve been trying out new products from some new spring collections that different brands have been coming out with but there’s been one clear winner with their new releases. Rimmel London has had some superrrr great new products recently and this post is going to be about my 2 new favourite eye products!
Both products are from the new Scandal Eyes range.
The first is waterproof kohl eyeliner. I have a real problem with finding eyeliners that actually stay on my eyes without moving and smudging but Rimmel’s new black eyeliner has really solved this problem. It’s a super pigmented and super soft pencil that’s easy to apply and due to it being waterproof it stays on a considerable amount of time and that’s a real achievement especially on my eyes. Also due to the pencil having such a soft and creamy texture it makes it a dream to apply to your upper tight line and waterline so if you have difficulty with that definitely check this out! The eyeliner’s are only £3.99 which is a crazy price for such a great eyeliner so if you have trouble finding eyeliners that actually stay on your eyes I urge you to check this one out before spending a load of money on a high end brand.
The second product is the newest release from Rimmel and the Scandal Eyes collection. It’s the new eye shadow stick in ‘002 Bulletproof Beige’. It’s a beautiful light champagne colour that’s great as a base under any neutral eyeshadow look but my favourite use for it is for highlighting my inner corner of my eye. Just like the eyeliner it has a beautiful creamy texture which makes it wonderful to apply and doesn’t pull or tug at your eye whatsoever. They’re currently £4.99 at boots but I got mine on offer when they were first released for only £3.49 which personally I thought was a total steal!
Both ranges have numerous colours to choose from including some amazing bright colours whcih woud be great for a pop of colour in the summer time.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them?
Hope you guys enjoyed!

How I Dip-Dyed My Hair Pink!

                          Hiya!
So for my first official beauty related post I thought I would talk about how I dip-dyed my hair! I decided to colour the ends of my hair pink for the summer, this is great way to make your hair super fun and colourful for summer but is easy to cut out once you get bored with it or need to go back to school :’(
I have dark hair so I decided to bleach my hair first but for a more subtle look you can just apply the coloured dye directly onto your hair if it is dark.

I bought a pack of 5 sachets of powder bleach from superdrug for £3.99 then the cream peroxide to mix with it for £1.69. I spilt my hair into a middle parting and plaited both sides then tied my hair with a hair tie where I wanted the dye to stop. I then applied the bleach and covered it with tinfoil. I found the easiest way the apply the bleach was by using an old comb to make sure I covered my entire hair with the dye.
After around 40minutes I rinsed the bleach out of my hair and towel dried it so it was still partly damp. My hair wasn’t completely blonde, more of a yellowy/blonde but I was too impatient to wait the entire hour but I knew the pink dye would cover it so it wasn’t a problem! At this stage I took my hair out of the plaits and put my hair back into its normal parting so I could see if I wanted to dye any higher pieces around my face.
After all the bleach was finished I split my hair into 2 low pony tails (so it was easier to work with) and applied the pink dye anywhere that was blonde. I found this part was easiest just using my hand with a glove on to make sure I got every bit of hair with the pink dye. The pink dye I used was by a brand called Paint Box and was in the colour ‘pretty flamingo', it was £8.95 and I purchased it from a hair dressers called Trade Secret. I then wrapped my hair in tinfoil again and left the dye on for around 15 minutes. I simply washed my hair after the time and dried it as usual.

If you would like anymore information on how I dip-dyed my hair leave comments below and I’ll do my best to answer them.
Hope you guys enjoyed this!
Love, Julie x
